Boston Family Portraits :: Amy, Amanda, and Bart

I met Amy last year when she enrolled in my NEIA photography class. We had a fun 14 weeks and I was sad to see her go (and her whole class, we had lot of fun)! So when she emailed me earlier in the year to set up a session to photograph her and her brother and sister I was totally game. I love to photograph people I know, and especially people I have taught because I can actually fill them in on what I am doing and why I am doing it. This is the teacher geek in me…just bear with me:) So we chose a day when her siblings would be in town and it called for a complete and total wash out—rain all day:( We were sad but had to do the session because there was no other day, and the show must go on folks. So imaging my surprise when the sun comes out in the afternoon and we end up with a total gem of a day (insert photographer cooing and exclamation here)! Anyway, I hope you like these photos Amy and I hope your parents are totally surprised!

I love this photo. While I was waiting for the three of them to arrive I was watching this light and praying it would still be there when they arrived. My wish was granted:)

This is a great shot of the three of them. I showed this to Amy on the back of the camera and she said “we’re done…we got the shot!”

Of course, we weren’t really done:)

This is a great moment between the three of them.

IO asked them to link arms. Not because of the actual linking of the arms, but because I knew it would make them laugh and giggle, which always makes for better photos:)

Amy, the light gods were definitely with us that day—and yes, they were giving us sucker light all day:)

When I took this shot I was hopping up and down and cooing. Amy looks at Amanda and Bart and says, “we photographers tend to get a little excited.” Well, that’s the understatement of the century…if you’ve ever shot with me you know how excited I get!

A little black and white.

Seriously with this gorgeous location!

I had chosen this location because of this porch. Since it was supposed to rain we would have been able to stay dry if we needed to. We didn’t need to stay dry.
