Memorial Day weekend…really?!?! I cannot believe that Memorial Day weekend has already come and gone. Whew, this truly has been a whirlwind start to my season. What is awesome was how beautiful it was all weekend. What isn’t awesome is, because of that amazing weather, I am behind on all my shoots. Not really behind…but behind for my standards. Ugh, having personal high standards that are nearly impossible to meet makes my life so difficult. I really should be nicer to myself. :) And then the cookouts and the dinners and the afternoons by the pool has really thrown my editing schedule off…but this girl needs a life too. All work and no play makes Lexi a cranky photog. :( Sooooo, I did all my regular weekend fun and now back to the grind and I have been busting out the editing so you’ll be seeing some awesomeness in the next few days.
Anyway, all that talk and I haven’t even introduced the adorable Aiden. Aiden was 2 weeks old when we did this shoot and look at what a munchkin he is! He didn’t sleep really at all for his photo shoot but he was sooooo good it didn’t really matter. :) His parents, the enviable Laura and Brian, have been featured here, here, here, and here on the blog. I love being a part of my couples’ life story through their photos—favorite part of my job! In fact, sitting by the pool with a friend this weekend she mentioned that she saw baby Aiden’s facebook sneak peek and she may be just a little bit obsessed with Laura and Brian. :) She was all I remember their wedding and then the belly pics and now their baby…I kind of want to be them. Trust me, they are a couple to be envied, but for all the right reasons. Awesome people, fun and beautiful, he’s a Lynn firefighter (I don’t even need to explain why that’s awesome), she’s a teacher (hmmm, wonder why I would appreciate that), they are amazing parents (of course) and they have this beautiful home and adorable new addition in their lives. Yeah…I’m a bit envious too. :) They are one of those couples that has it all together, or seems to, and I couldn’t be more honored to call them both friends. Anyway—gosh I’m long winded today—here are the pics!

I’ll end with my favorite image of the whole shoot and I’ll explain why. I’m a photographer trying to give you real images of your real life, and your real love, and your real experiences. I set things up sometimes but what I’m really striving for is catching you as you are right now. And this…this is a perfect example of that. Thank you Laura and Brian for putting up with my crazy ideas and I hope this image hangs as a HUGE canvas in your home for many years to come. I hope it embodies all of your love and hope for your future and Aiden’s future, and beyond that.
