“Is this poison ivy…you know…the stuff I’m standing in right now?” You’d think after all my years as a bona fide country girl I would know what poison ivy looks like. After all, I grew up in the sticks, in the woods in a place without sidewalks or street lights, and I managed to get poison ivy almost every single year of my childhood. Terrible rashes going up my legs and I remember the pain and the itching and the oatmeal baths and the calamine lotion and the vitamin E oil. So you’d think—after all that—that I might actually know what poison ivy looks like. Well, that is clearly not the case. It is, in all fairness, over 2 days later though and I do not have an enormous rash of poison ivy so I think I’m safe. And I also learned what poison ivy looks like aaaannnd found out that it is often not shiny. Whaaaaat! Seriously people, whoever came up with 3-shiny-leaves-means-poison-ivy should be punished because they are a dirty stinking LIAR. Not always shiny, sometimes shiny. You learn something new every day. :)
Anyway, onto the photos of the fabulous Nicole that were taken in the poison ivy field mentioned above. Totally worth it I think. :) Nicole and I have known each other for years. She got interested in wedding photography a couple of years ago and has since started a photography business of her own, so she thought it was time for some new business headshots that captured her and how she wanted to portray herself to her clients. I kinda loved the sultry, sexy, summery light that we got and the ultra girlie dresses. :) I had so much fun catching up and I hope you love these Nicole!
