I think we all know that most couples tend to shy away from the colder months for weddings. Being a Boston wedding photographer means most of my weddings are booked between May and October. However, with my recent shift in focus to intimate weddings and elopements, I’ve found more of my couples are willing to explore not only off days (hello weekday weddings) but also off months in the winter. So in this post I am going to focus on a favorite intimate winter wedding capturing the beautiful love story of Christen and Josue in Boston’s enchanting North End. This wedding was an absolute delight, and I can’t wait to share all the heartfelt moments with you.
Christen and Josue first crossed paths while working at the famous Mamma Maria. So while deciding on a venue, it was not surprise that they chose to celebrate their love in the very place where it all began—the sweetest nod to their journey together. Choosing to hold an intimate winter wedding in Boston can be tough because of our unpredictable weather. It was a very crisp December day in the North End—the air was decidedly chilly, but Christen and Josue’s wedding had an intimate, classic, and undeniably romantic vibe that left everyone feeling the love. From the lovely decor and candlelit interiors Mamma Maria was not just a wedding venue for them. As the place where their love story unfolded, it was as if every corner of the restaurant held little tales of their love story. It was the perfect backdrop for their evening ceremony overlooking old North Square.
Josue looked dashing in a classic black suit, while Christen stunned in a fitted Stella York gown. Her dress featured a lace bodice and long lace sleeves, exuding timeless elegance. Their son, Matteo, was decked out in a miniature blue suit and even sported a customized boutonniere. I’m not saying for sure, but Matteo may have stolen the show. Witnessing this adorable family bond from behind the camera was an absolute privilege.
I am so glad that Christen and Josue found me through a simple online search for a “Boston wedding photographer.” I love photographing an elopement or an intimate winter wedding in Boston and it’s serendipitous that we crossed paths because I hold this part of the city so very dear to my heart. In fact, I too said “I do” in the North End of Boston, so capturing their wedding felt like coming full circle. Here are some very heartwarming words from the couple:
“Lexi was the most amazing photographer for our micro wedding. She was quick to answer any questions, was so supportive and knowledgeable throughout the entire process, and was truly caring, trying to ensure we had all of the most perfect shots of our day! I’d instantly rehire Lexi in a minute.”
Now, let’s take a look at some of the magical moments from their beautiful winter wedding.

Christen and Josue’s wedding day was a true testament to the power of a great love story. I couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful couple to work with, and their beautiful day will forever hold a special place in my heart. Thank you for letting me be a part of your love story, Christen and Josue. Wishing you a lifetime of love and happiness!
