Malachi and I met up on a beautiful fall day in one of my favorite Boston neighborhoods, the North End, for his senior portraits. Malachi is a pretty big Celtics fan so we actually started at the Boston Garden and then headed over to Lovejoy Wharf and The North End, giving him so many different views of the city in just a short hour shoot. We wanted a few photos of the famous Boston Zakim Bridge, so I brought him to Lovejoy Wharf for a part of the session—there you can get a great view of the bridge, the Garden, and the light spills onto this area perfectly at sunset.
This was a very special session for me, seeing as I took Malachi’s family photos when he was only a few years old. I think I have photographed this young man a few times times in his life and it’s awesome to think back on his mom entrusting me with photographing him and his sister when I was so new to photography all those years ago. And that it came pretty full circle with photographing in Boston in the North End for his senior portraits. Probably my favorite thing about being a long haul photographer is that I have so many clients that I have photographed for many of their momentous life events, over many years. I know his mom was a little worried that he might not smile for me, but I got him to laugh quite a bit and captured photos that I think show his full personality. Okay, let’s get to the photos!
