This was the most fantastic Essex Steam Train and Lace Factory wedding! I mean, maybe I am a little bit biased in thinking that this was one of the coolest weddings I’ve ever photographed. Biased because Kim and Rich are my friends…and it’s awesome when your friends get married! But maybe, just maybe, this really was one of the coolest weddings I’ve ever photographed. I guess I’ll let you decide… ;)
Kim and Rich were married on a gorgeous fall day in late September. The leaves hadn’t turned yet and the wind was blowing lightly and the sun was warm and clear. Their outdoor ceremony was held at the awesome Essex Steam Train station in Essex, Connecticut. I mean, a train station wedding is a photographers dream! After the ceremony their guests boarded the steam train and headed over to the incomparable Lace Factory for the rest of the wedding. This venue was beyond amazing, a former lace factory turned wedding venue?!?! Yes please! The girls wore beautiful navy dresses of their choice, vintage earrings and bracelets purchased by Kim, and they carried decorative kale bouquets. The guys wore grey suits of their choosing with mint ties and brown accessories. The details were amazing—Kim had a brooch bouquet, there were K & R letters made from book blocks, signs and invites showcasing train ticket fonts (go Carrie), Rich’s “Ping” tie clip and Connecticut Co. cufflinks, a stunning Matthew Christopher floral lace gown with understated stripe detailing, DIY photo booth with polaroid cameras, wedding favors of the yummiest blueberry lemon marmalade (homemade by Kim and a couple of her bridesmaids)—I really could go on but I’ll stop there…and besides, you’ll see them all in the photos below. :) This is a really photo heavy post and I apologize in advance but I realllllly couldn’t choose my favorites so please enjoy! I also wanted to thank the amazing Lindsey, who was my associate for this wedding and stepped up when I turned into a guest. You rock Linds!
Kim and Rich, I honestly couldn’t be more honored that you trusted me to photograph this amazing day in your lives. Weddings are always special and always amazing to me, but even more so when they are my friends’ weddings. You had an absolutely perfect day and I hope you like the sneak peek. :)

Wow! Amazing! Lexi & Lindsey you two were fabulous! These are incredibly beautiful and I may have just cried a little ;)
Kim is stunning and Rich is pretty hot too!
I take care of the property and track at the Steam Train, and it gives me such joy to see what a backdrop the place I love provided for this special day! I’m glad everyone made such beautiful use of our unique property – I thought your photography captured the sense of time and place so very well.
