Oh happy Monday! I realize this is an evening post…I just wanted to get out the amazingness (I know it’s not a real word) of Sean and Katie’s wedding and didn’t want to wait until tomorrow morning. So here you go!
Amazing. That is the word that I will start with to describe Katie and Sean’s wedding. I think it’s fitting. I think you’ll agree. :) Katie and Sean were married on a day when they were calling for severe thunderstorms to hit—an outdoor ceremony was planned and all of Katie’s details were amazing, but would not have fared well in a thunderstorm. It actually did thunderstorm all around us but never really rained (more than a few drops) on us and so we ended up with awesome dark skies and soft light (albeit with a little bit of strong wind) for their photos. We all know I’m a sucker for weather so I thought the skies and light were incredible. :) This wedding had detail overload (oh, photographer’s heaven) and so you may have to suffer through a few detail boards. I know…awful!
Katie’s incredible Vera Wang gown. Beautiful!
The guys were hanging out and Sean was relaxed and enjoying himself.
Just after the first look. I love the feel of this one.
Some details of the tables. Loved the centerpieces, all the birch and the little notes on the chalkboards. And we all know my obsession with mason jars.
Katie, you’re stunning. Just saying.
Might be my favorite shot of you Katie.
The guys had these awesome birds nests complete with flowers and feathers and little pearls as eggs. Really cool!
Dogwood Floral always does such a fabulous job.
The flying V. Looking good guys. This is Jess’s shot.
The rad bridal party rockin’ the ray bans. Whatever, we all know I’m bringing rad back…don’t care if you don’t like it. :)
My favorite of the bridal party.
Jess’s shot. Just really like the quality of light here.
Faaaavvvvvorrriiiiitttte shot!!! I may or may not have been holding my camera above my head and hoping the focus was locked. It worked. :)
Here are just a few more details, mostly the paper goods that were all beautiful.
We moved the ceremony inside in case of rain. Gibbet Hill is gorgeous inside and out.
After the ceremony we popped back outside for a few last shots.
I love me some adirondack chairs.
Katie’s headpiece was beautiful.
The escort cards were hang tags (swoon) tied to antique keys.
And here’s some crazy dancing. I love a good party!
And, on an end note. I had the lovely Jess along with me to shoot. Jess is my former high school photography student from a few years ago. This was a little funny for me and I’m not sure if I am happy or sad that I am old enough to have a former high school student who is now old enough to run her own photography business and second shoot with me. Really, am I that old? How in the world did that happen?!?! Here’s our photo booth fun. :)
