When last Saturday rolled around I kept hoping it wasn’t going to be as hot as the week leading up to it. We were in the middle of a heat wave and I hoped, for Eliza and Steve’s sake, that it might cool down. Well, July 6th came and went as one of the hottest weddings I’ve ever photographed and Eliza and Steve rocked it out! Seriously, not a single complaint about the heat…not one!
The day was perfect overall—sunny and maybe a bit too warm [ ;) ] but we ended up with lovely breezes on the lawn at Gibbet Hill and perfect low sun for their portraits. The bridal party was fun, the girls wearing light pink dresses and carrying bouquets of pink and white and the guys with pink and grey ties and pink pocket squares adorning their grey three-piece suits. Eliza wore a gorgeous formal satin gown that played perfectly against the green lawn and elegant barn and carried a bouquet of peonies, white roses, and hydrangeas. The details were perfection—skeleton keys as place cards, hay bails for guests to sit at during cocktail hour, pink and grey paper straws (big love for paper straws), little birch details everywhere—serious perfection! But most noted during the day was that Steve and Eliza smiled the whole time, flanked by their happy families and friends and every speech mentioned how perfect these two are for each other. Love!
Okay, I’ve said plenty and probably too much anyway. But thank you to the ever fabulous Aubrey for second shooting with me and Gibbet Hill for their constant professionalism and offering such a beautiful backdrop to take photos. Alright…let’s take a look at Eliza & Steve’s wedding!
