Nathan is my nephew. My youngest nephew!!! How did he become a senior? Where…seriously…do the years go?!?!?! Ugh. Nathan chose the incomparable Halibut Point State Park in Rockport for his senior photos and we ended up with a beautiful evening for this shoot.
He wanted his senior portraits somewhere different than the average park. I wanted to give him a backdrop that represented him best. Enter the rocks at Halibut Point. If you’ve never been here, the rocks down by the ocean are absolutely stunning. He had never been to this part of the quarry and neither had I. I’ve photographed here a bunch over the years but never down to the rocks as it is a little more of a hike. My sister came along with us and we walked down to the rocks by the ocean, waited for the sun to get really low in the sky, and then started photographing like crazy! The colors Nathan chose for his outfit changes were a perfect compliment to the warm orange tones from the sun and the backdrop. And every few photos or so I noticed that he looked like an Abercrombie ad, circa 1996 of course. So combine that 90’s fashion with those perfect red rocks and gorgeous setting sunshine and you get this amazing session. Alright, onto the photos!
