So there is a great story about when my family was visiting a friend’s vacation house in Maine (I was about 7) and I turned to my mom and said, “Mom…I want a Maine!” And I did, honestly. So fast forward a few years later and my family did, indeed, get a Maine of our own:) I have loved our Maine—it is quiet and yet close to everything, year round it is a great place to get away, in the winter you lock yourself in and drink hot cocoa by the woodstove, in the summer make s’mores by the fire and swim and boat during the day, the dogs love the constant throwing of the ball and lazy days in the sun, great food and plentiful drinks, reading…oh the reading, there is antiquing galore, grilling out at night, family and friends surrounding you—it has been, for all intents and purposes, one of my favorite places on earth. Maine is known as vacationland…the way life should be. So in celebration of my Maine, I hope you all find your own place to call Maine—even if it is thousands of miles away from the actual state, it is a state of mind:)
This is my moose mug…and yes it did snow on Friday night.
Guinness loves to swim, even if the water is only 35 degrees.
