I just love Wingaersheek Beach for family portraits! So on this slightly stormy August evening we met up at this beautiful beach in Gloucester and got the last bits of light before the rain came through…super lucky!
Alright people. Katie has been my student for three years. I spend the other part of my life as a high school photography teacher and I would say it’s just as important as the work I do as a photographer. I keep that part of my life pretty separate but when former students hire me to photograph them I melt into a little puddle. Yes yes I am lots of pieces of professional and organized—both in my business and in my classroom—but I’m also equal parts feeling, which is likely why you’re reading this here silly blog. So I joked that this session gave me all the feels…but it did. It truly is an honor to photograph my students in their real life and I figure if they trust me enough to do so, well then I must be doing something right. :)
I’m going to get right to the photos and lucky for you this family is really stinkin’ cute!
Favorite Moments:
• We were fighting a serious thunderstorm on this particular night and we ended up with the perfect evening light and it started raining just as we ended the session. Whew!
• I love that this family was perfectly coordinated but not perfectly matched. Nice job Katie (aka…outfit coordinater)!
• If you have siblings I will likely make you do something silly together, this time it was the monkey walk. I did it for the laughter, I think you’ll find it fun too!
Are you planning on Wingaersheek Beach family portraits…call me, I’d love to photograph you!
